鞘盒，登場｜Sheath Box on the Runway

我們從沒想過，葉鞘盒會出現在時尚週的秀場上。

2021年秋天，我們受邀參與「臺北時裝週 SS22」。這是一場由文化部主導、結合原住民族委員會與多個部會共同推動的大型展演計畫，讓來自不同領域的創作者、工藝者與設計品牌，有了彼此合作與對話的可能。那時，拿鞘也成為其中之一。

我們與服裝品牌 INF 合作，嘗試讓葉鞘盒從桌面走進服裝語彙裡。設計師郭瑋提出一個構想：如果鞘盒穿上一件外衣，能不能變成一件可以背負的包？這個聽起來有點天馬行空的想法，最後變成我們一起面對的創作起點。

鞘盒被加上了提把、背帶、扣件與多層包覆結構，但仍保留葉鞘原始的紋理與形狀。外衣使用了 INF 當季的服裝布料，與鞘盒原有的自然材料彼此對照。成品像是後背包、側背包或腰包，但又仍然是那個我們熟悉的盒子——只是換了一層可以穿脫的身體。

這場合作的展演場地，是林安泰古厝。

午後的陽光落在磚牆上，也落在模特身上的鞘盒上。

那是個對我們來說很陌生的場合，但葉鞘在其中並不顯得違和。

它被背著、提著、移動著，進入一種不再靜止的狀態。從山林裡拾起的葉子、經手工處理後成形的器物，如今也能參與走動、裝飾與穿戴。

我們沒有太多時尚的語言，但這次合作讓我們重新思考：

沒有傳統技法作為框架的我們，能否用葉材本身，說出屬於當代的語言？

這樣的合作，從一開始只是工作桌上的假設，最後真的變成了一件作品。

我們提供了葉鞘盒，INF 則為它們構思並製作了可以穿戴的形式。

謝謝 INF 的邀請與創意發想，也謝謝文化部與原住民族委員會的支持，讓我們得以走進一個截然不同的場域，嘗試不一樣的可能。

ファッション・ウィークのランウェイに、葉鞘の箱が登場するなんて、私たちは夢にも思いませんでした。

2021年の秋、私たちは「台北ファッションウィーク SS22」へ招待されました。このイベントは文化部の主導で、原住民族委員会をはじめとする複数の政府機関の協力によって実現された大規模な展示プロジェクトです。異なる分野のクリエイター、職人、デザインブランドが連携し、対話するきっかけとなりました。その中に、私たち「拿鞘」も加わることができました。

私たちはファッションブランドINFと協力し、葉鞘の箱をテーブルの上からファッションの文脈へと運び入れる試みを行いました。デザイナーの郭瑋（Guo Wei）さんが提案したのは、「もし鞘の箱に洋服を着せたら、それは背負えるバッグになれるだろうか？」という一見突飛とも思えるアイデア。けれどその想像が、私たちの創作の出発点となったのです。

鞘の箱には、持ち手やストラップ、バックル、そして多層のカバー構造が加えられました。それでも、葉鞘の持つ独自の模様と形はそのまま残されています。外側の「衣」はINFの今季の布地を使用し、自然素材の葉鞘とのコントラストを生み出しました。完成した姿は、バックパックやショルダーバッグ、ウエストポーチのようでありながら、それでもやはり、私たちが知るあの「箱」そのものでした。

このコラボレーションの発表の場となったのは、歴史的建造物「林安泰古厝」でした。

午後の陽光が赤レンガの壁を照らし、モデルが身に着けた鞘の箱にも光が落ちます。

私たちにとっては未知の場でしたが、葉鞘はそこでも違和感なく存在していました。

背負われ、運ばれ、動きの中にあるその姿は、山から拾い集められ、手作業で成形された葉鞘が、「止まらないもの」へと変化していく様子でもありました。

私たちはファッションの言葉を多くは知りません。けれど、このコラボレーションは私たちに問いかけました。

伝統的な技法に頼らず、葉という素材そのものから、現代の言葉を紡ぐことはできるだろうか？

初めは机の上の想像だったものが、やがてひとつの作品になりました。

私たちは葉鞘の箱を提供し、INFがそれを「着られる形」へと仕立ててくれました。

このような場を与えてくださったINF、そして文化部や原住民族委員会の皆さまに、心から感謝いたします。

We never imagined our leaf sheath boxes would appear on the runway of a fashion week.

In the fall of 2021, we were invited to participate in “Taipei Fashion Week SS22.” This large-scale project was initiated by the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Council of Indigenous Peoples and several other government agencies. It created an opportunity for creators, artisans, and design brands from different fields to collaborate and exchange ideas. We, Na chiao (拿鞘), were one of them.

We collaborated with the fashion brand INF to explore how the leaf sheath box could step off the table and into the language of clothing. Designer Guo Wei proposed an idea: What if the sheath box put on an outfit—could it become a wearable bag? This seemingly whimsical question became the starting point of our shared creative process.

Handles, straps, buckles, and layered coverings were added to the box, while the original textures and form of the leaf sheath were preserved. The “clothing” was made using INF’s seasonal fabrics, creating a dialogue between natural and tailored materials. The final result looked like a backpack, a sling bag, or a waist pouch—but it was still that familiar box, simply dressed in a different skin.

The show took place at Lin An Tai Historical House.

Afternoon light fell across the red brick walls—and across the sheath boxes worn by the models.

It was an unfamiliar setting for us, but the leaf sheaths felt right at home.

They were carried, worn, and moved—no longer static objects. From the forest floor to handcrafted containers, they now entered a world of motion, styling, and wearability.

We don’t have much of a fashion vocabulary, but this collaboration made us reflect:

Can we tell a contemporary story using only the material itself, without relying on traditional techniques?

What began as a tabletop idea eventually turned into a finished work.

We provided the leaf sheath boxes, and INF envisioned and crafted wearable forms for them.

We’re deeply thankful to INF for their creative invitation, and to the Ministry of Culture and the Council of Indigenous Peoples for supporting this unexpected journey into a completely different arena.
